So what do you do when you’re all riled up from watching the news or reading something that stokes your fears? Go to the light (Carol Ann). Really. Stop and take a step back from your reaction, and make a deliberate choice to move in another direction; ie: the Light. Here’s a meditation you can use for just those times, or for anytime, actually. Ideally, you would use this or just remember it anytime you want to feel lighter, relax, shift your focus, or for no reason at all.
What’s important is that you connect with Light and allow it to shower all over you, to flow into and all through your body; physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. By doing this as often as possible you will do yourself more good than you can possibly imagine in the beginning. Even if you’re not feeling anything or you think nothing is happening, I promise you that it is. In time you’ll have your own experiences to go on and this will impel you to want more.
When you do experience Light, you will feel happy, even joyous, or giddy, or maybe a little light-headed (forgive the pun, please!). You will definitely notice a shift in whatever reaction you were in the midst of before doing the meditation. It is your intention and the act of choosing that makes this happen. It is not mysterious in the least. Anyone can do this. It is available to everyone simply because. …because we are each in touch with the Divine by right of birth. And God wants you to be closer to Him. In a sense, you can’t get closer than you already are, it’s that your perspective changes so that you experience yourself as being closer. We are always in the Presence of the Divine. That is our nature.
